Missed Appointment & Cancellation Policy
At Coastal we aim to provide quality health care to all our patients in a timely manner. Patient No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations, effects the treatment and care required by our patients. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed, and cancelled appointments. At the end of the day, this policy is about being considerate of others.
Appointment Cancellation
Your appointment reserves time for you with your specialist. In order to be respectful to your doctor and to your fellow patients, if you are unable to make your appointment please call the practice on (07) 5638 1259 or email us on admin@coastalrespsleep.com.au, farther more, an SMS will be sent out to you 7, and 3 days prior to your appointment, you can confirm or cancel your appointment via this SMS by replying with Y (yes) to confirm or N (no) to cancel.
We require at least 48 hours for an appointment cancellation; in doing so, we will be able to allocate a new patient to that time frame. Failure to confirm your appointment 48 hours prior to the scheduled time with us, will result in an automatic cancellation, and you will need to call to make a new appointment with us.
How to Cancel Your Appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us between the business hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM QLD time Monday to Friday, via Email or through our automative SMS system.
Late Cancellations/No-Shows/Fees
A late cancellation is when the appointment has been cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice before the allocated appointed time. A no-show is when an appointment is not attended without cancellation.
If you fail to attend an appointment where there is a late cancellation, we will take all steps possible to fill the cancelled appointment with another patient. However, in the circumstance where the appointment cannot be filled or in the case of a no-show, we will charge 30% of the missed/cancelled appointment fee. This is on a cost recovery basis – this is the cost that we incur in making our services available to you for the booked appointment.
For any new patients’ seeing our specialists for a first appointments, a no show or late cancellation without reasonable explanation will result in a 50% charge of the new patient fee.
Father more, if an appointment is missed, or multiple late cancellations, any future bookings will require full payment upfront, prior to your next booked appointment.
Reasonable consideration will always be given in any crisis situations (for example serious health emergencies (yours or an immediate family member), flood, or bush fire) however, reasons of inconvenience, difficulty or expense are will not be accepted for late cancellation/no-show reasons.
